Moving APT is a SCAM!!!! They are not a moving company even though they will sound like they are on the phone. They are just some broker! I was given a 5 day window for my move and NO ONE SHOWED UP!!!! No one called me to say no is coming to move me to ANOTHER STATE and they did not answer or return my calls. I had to dispose of ALL my things on my last day so I can move. These people caused me thousands of dollars in damage and some things I lost can not be replaced. People responsible for this are Peter and Ronald. Please read the reviews online about these FRAUD people and hire a real moving company. I wish I had done that and did not fall for these scammers.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Moving APT would have to be the WORST, UNPROFESSIONAL, DISHONEST and DISRESPECTFUL brokers I have had the pleasure of working with on my most recent long distance move. From lying about verbiage on contracts and checklist sheets to not properly recording calls for quality assurance.

Why make a note at the beginning of calls saying that they are beginning recorded? When actually they arent and you are not able to properly watch and or train your sales specialist when things go bad... especially when there are large amounts of money involved and customers personal belongings. Rachel Johnson is supposed to be their top specialist but yet she lied from the very beginning about payment options.

I gave her my card number in confidence that I would be able to use this same card at delivery to receive my items and she agreed on numerous accounts that this would be more than fine. Fast forward, when it comes time to pay turns out this is not fine!! Why lie about something so small? Then she became unresponsive when I needed support in speaking to dispatchers.

How convenient for her? Moving APT must be very low budget in the people they hire and their training programs must be non existent. Moving is an important and stressful time in a customers life and to know that they could be shafted and lied to by the broker company does not make it any more less difficult. Future customers please save yourself the headache in dealing with such a ratchet company and find a more reliable broker!

Listen to these poor reviews, these customers are not lying!! I wish I wouldve taken heed and took my money elsewhere!

I have never felt more frustrated and humiliated in my life. There were guys sleeping in the truck that delivered my things. The people who came to deliver my things were almost surely homeless (asked to use my bathroom multiple times and for a prolonged periods of...

Original review Oct 10, 2019
The subcontractor (Pioneer Moving) APT hired to do my job was an absolute scam and APT knew that. When my things were finally delivered (much later than promised) they had lost my table ($550), one wardrobe box full of personal things, and 2 medium size boxes.

$3000+ value and a lot of personal memorabilia. No one has reached out to me. Before they take your deposit, they are going to be extremely nice to you. After they take your NONREFUNDABLE deposit, you become less than human to them.

I had called with one request - that my furniture be delivered to my new city on or before September 27th as I was starting a new job the following Monday, September 30th. The rep I spoke with, Rachel Johnson, made multiple assurances that I was going to receive my things between Wednesday and Friday of that week, but "worst case scenario" was September 30th. Based on her promises, I booked a flight to get there Wednesday morning. Turns out, Rachel (and later her colleague Ron) were heartless salespeople not caring in the least about my new job and most of what they said was untrue.

In fact, Rachel's OWN MANAGER, Jia, said that most of what Rachel had promised me was illegal. When I told Jia that she is welcome to listen to my recorded conversations with Rachel, in which Rachel told me the exact opposite of what turned out to be the case, Jia laughed in my face and said, "you really think we record all of those?!" Same issues with the movers working for Pioneer, including Rocky, whom I tipped generously and whose colleague I donated $350+ worth of clothes and children's toys to (for his kids). Fast forward to that "worst case scenario" Friday -- I had not heard a word and no one would pick up their phones. Finally I got through to someone and it turned out that my things were STILL IN TEXAS!

Imagine my horror as I was in an empty apartment with no work clothes on FRIDAY NIGHT TO START WORK MONDAY MORNING only to be laughed at when I asked if they are getting close and told that my stuff was in Texas and they don't know when it'll make it to New York. I had to spend hundreds of dollars on new stuff. I spent my first week of my new job sleeping on an air mattress. To add salt to the wound, apparently there were at least 10 things that I had to be charged for that were not mentioned upfront.

Then, there I was, day after day, waiting. Leaving MY NEW JOB early or in the middle of the day to go wait for movers who never showed up. Finally (I think it was the 5th day they had said that "Today is the day!!!") they said they would be there at 9 AM. They finally showed up at 3 PM and were rude and awfully messy.

The situation in the truck was simply inhumane. There were people sleeping on the floor. One of the guys told me that his friend John "picks him up" "every time he's in town." Imagine what happens if that guy hurts himself in your apartment. He doesn't work for either the broker or the subcontractor, so you are on the hook.

This is the most disgusting, illegal operation I have ever seen in the United States.Of the boxes that did arrive, most were in pitiful condition. At least three of were bottomed out with half of the contents spilled and gone; others were obviously opened, rampaged through, and re-sealed; everything smelled terrible and was dusty. I spent the weekend washing and had to pay hundreds for professional cleaning of most of my clothes and linens, as well as my now ruined $6k couch. The day my things came, was so exhausted that I just wanted to sleep on a normal bed; only to start sneezing as soon as I touched the bed.

I had explained to the agents that I had a TempurPedic mattress and Rachel promised a "free mattress cover" in addition to "all the general packing!" Guess how my mattress arrived. One sad plastic piece over it, entirely torn apart.

So my mattress needed to be professionally cleaned. It took me a week to gather some energy because I fell physically sick from all the dirt and stress associated with the move.

This review is full of inaccurate information. The customer was offered an expedited/guaranteed delivery but refused to pay for the service.

She agreed multiple times and signed documents agreeing to the standard delivery schedule.

The rep and customer service agents spent hours with the customer day after day. No calls or emails were gone unanswered.

For starters movers were a day late. they broke so much stuff.

photos attached are enough of an explanation. But really? How do you do that to a freezer? 90% of the stuff broke, we paid extra for them to pack.

They also didnt deliver some items. But they offered us $200 for over $2000 worth of stuff. It was also delivered 3 days late. the claims process is a joke.

We have been fighting for 2 months over this. It was denied because I did not scan back BLANK pages. Then they wanted me to resubmit everything that took 3 hours to begin with. MovingApt offered $100 reimbursement.

With that, had to sign a waiver, agreeing to remove bad reviews and mark BBB as resolved. No thanks. All of this is not their problem (they sent an email, and once again they claims people are reprocessing the claim- so they did their part), as they say the contract is with the company they sent to get the stuff and damaged it all, who will not respond! I want to think all the good reviews on here were offered something to write them, since in order to get the $100 they agreed to pay us once they verify we have removed bad reviews.

We are not pleased with the move we made from NC to WI through APT Moving. The sales representative was very nice but once you paid your money, you were ignored. Communication was terrible, emails sent (no response), calls were made, messages left on various peoples voice mails. (None of which were returned.) Scheduled pick-up dates were missed. When finally got to speak with a manger who promised to get the truck to pick-up our items and to call him back if there were problems, doesnt have voice mail on his phone! Truck arrived two days after the close of the three day pick-up window. Crew was nice and did a good job of packing. Salesman said the small load we had would be repacked in plywood packing container for the cross country trip. The window of arrival in WI was a week long. After 5 days we started calling again and as before, calls were made, messages left on various peoples voice mails. (None of which were returned.) Eventually we did get some to talk to and they said the driver would be calling us with an arrival time. Driver did call and said he was running late and would arrive in the following morning, a full 12 days after scheduled arrival date. Driver said he had picked up our items from a warehouse in VA and had driven them to WI - so much for the promised plywood packing container. Goods were damaged and boxes were opened and items taken. Many of the identification numbers on the boxes were missing so an accurate count of the boxes unloaded from the truck could not be made. We are slowly discovering the items which were lost/stolen because of the boxes missing their identification number. I wanted to file a claim for the damaged items and I emailed the sales representative. I emailed him four times and there was no response from him for the three week period I was trying to contact him. I finally gave up on him and called the customer service number and reached a person who gave me the name and number of the person to contact for claims. An email has been sent the person and we are now waiting. We finally received an email from the claim person after sending him three emails requesting information on the claim process. He requested information on the move, which was sent to him. Three weeks later we still have not received any reply to the information which was sent. At the rate the claim process is going, one would think they have a clause buried in their paperwork stating that the claim must be made within a short period of time and if they stall long enough, the time period will expire and claims cant be made. If you can avoid using this company, do so.

I don't usually review experiences but feel as though I need to warn others of our misfortunes with this company called Moving APT. Sales staff are sweet talkers as would be expected. This team promised us a maximum of 3 weeks not including weekends to do a cross country move...it is currently week 6 and I have little to no expectations that our belongings will ever be delivered to us. No one on the team is able to give any estimation of when the items will be delivered to us. We would honestly have been better off burning all of our things than giving this responsibility over to this company. Run away as fast as you can and stay clear of them. Would rate a negative five stars if I could.

Duplicitous practices, still missing my flat screen TV

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Moving APT has been terrible to work with from the start: while they seem to be careful and thorough, having multiple checks and documents to sign, having a "quality assurance" call to make sure the list of items we're bringing is accurate and the price being fair, everything falls apart when the move actually happens. Though we were moving our items only three hours from Michigan to Illinois, which they assured would take us no more than 1-2 business days, though the contract stipulated a 5-7 day estimate (which we were told we could ignore), they had no control over the movers when the movers said the estimate was incorrect and they'd take the full seven days for the move. When the movers actually got here, they broke several furniture pieces, and told us that they forgot to bring a shelf and TV - both of which we're still waiting for. We todl them the date that we'd be back on vacation, so that they could redeliver it, and they instead re-attempted delivery twice --- during the dates we said we were on vacation -- so now that we're back they said that they are under no obligation to bring it until they can book another job in Chicago, when they happen to be in the area anyway. Through all this, Moving APT has been no help: they have no power to put pressure on their movers to make delivery happen, or to pay up for the missing items, or to have complete delivery within the seven days suggested. Do not go through them. If you have to use a mover, work with movers directly. Having a moving broker as terrible as Moving APT has not helped in any way. I feel cheated, because if you look at the contract they explicitly say in small font that they bear no legal responsibility for any late delivery, missing, or damaged items, but they have you sign the contract while you're on the phone with them, so that you don't take the time to read all eight pages of the fine print.

Inaccurate information

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Sep 06, 2019

Well, my items have been delivered and many of my boxes were crushed or damaged on the bottom with large tears in the boxes with the packing being actively extruded. Items were lost, especially the bottom posts to connect my footboard and headboard to my bed, making me have nonfunctional bedframe.

Many things that were sentimental were broken.

I have been promised some compensation if I change my review. I posted pictures on google of some of my boxes.

Original review Aug 02, 2019
I have previous cross country moving experience and initially was excited to book with Moving Apt. Up front, I queried if my items would be going to a storage facility after pick up and was told no. I also stressed that I have time constrictions from work after 3 weeks but was assured my stuff would be moved immediately to avoid this. The price I was quoted included $500 in case I needed assistance packing my stuff. I was told that the disassembling my sectional and my bed was under the moving costs, being included in the provided service. When a local moving company came to pick up my packaged materials, I again queried whether my belongings would going to a storage facility first, and again, I was told no. I again asked the timing of delivery and was assured delivery within the time frame I had previously discussed. I questioned whether my belongings would go on a truck as part of a shipment of multiple moves and was again told no. I was then charged for $300 for packaging, which by the way, all my items were boxed. What was failed to mentioned, was that the wrapping of the sectional and the bed were actually not included in the moving cost but were charged as packaging. Great. Now, 16 days later I receive a telephone call that my stuff is finally being loaded on a truck to begin the trip. The dispatch person with Arrow Moving Company was horribly rude and quoted me a 6 day time frame. When I said this was not was I told, she stated this happens often. Hmmm. My favorite part was when I stated that I had work obligations during the time I was just told asking for a solution, her solution was she would place my belongings directly in storage across the country and blithely asked what I thought about that.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Please do not use this company they are the worse. Do not believe the postive reviews im sure they were written by employees to drum up business. My family was moving from montana to florida for a new job. We hired this company to move our belongings. They do not care about being on time or professional. They were late three times to pick up and the driver was disrespectful of my wife and extorted more money from her. They failed to pick up everything and when my wife called the driver to alert him he told her he was not turning around and so i called the company and they told me it was my fault and i was already in florida not even the same state they picked up my stuff in. They were late with delivery and they tried to extort more money then but i told them they will not see a dime and if they refuse ill have them arrested for thieft. This company makes moving way more stressgul then it needs to be you are better of finding anyone else or going to uhaul. Run away from this company sure wish i did.

I wished that I burned my furniture before dealing with this company.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This company is the worst company I had been dealing with. I have been here in USA for five years. I never had a bad experience like this before. They were so nice to me in the beginning, but after I signed the contract I surprised that they were the third party. They did not inform me that. They have contracts with another mover companies. Another mover company was rode. They changed the price in the last minutes. I called the APT company many times but no one answer. I called them again from my wife phone, they answered immediately. I explain the problem to them, but they did not help. They got there money and throw me to another company. I paid a lot. They got my furniture to the truck and gone. When I found another apartment, I called them to bring my furniture to my new apartment. They asked me more money because there is no access for there truck to enter the compound . They are liars. They just want more money. I called APT again, but no help. I told them that I will rent a truck from U-Haul and get the furniture by my self, which means that they will not get the third payment. The next day someone called to tell me he will arrive to my apartment after 2 hours. LAIRS, few days ago they said there is no access for there truck. I advise everyone to avoid dealing with this company. I prefer to burn my furniture than dealing with this company.

What an incredible move

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
When I initially set up the service with Moving apt, I was told I didn't have to box up my artwork or buy the expensive boxes, so it's going to be a lot cheaper. On the moving day the movers arrived in time and started packing. They did everything with proficiently. Delivery was on time and all my belongings were safely moved. Everything went well and I really don't have any complaints. There was not a slightest damage on any of my things and that alone is a good enough reason for me to hire them again in the future. We are a huge family. So it's obvious that there would be chaos when we have to relocate. But the very capable movers from Moving Apt made it so simple. They took their time in meticulously packing everyone’s items. There were many glass items that required the movers to be extra cautious and they dealt with those perfectly. It took the men quite a few hours but it was still very fast given the amount of stuffs that needed to be packed. It was a giant effort by these guys and I will be forever grateful to them. They stuck to their original quote at the end which made me even happier. They stuck to their original quote at the end which made me even happier.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

It was my first move, that also across USA. It was simply daunting because I had to start all over.

Anyway, I hired Moving Apt because of the amazing reviews I have read about them and they could fit me into a very busy weekend. The crew arrived on time and started working. They packed everything with amazing skills and creativity. No detail was spared and they were very thorough.

My breakables were given extra attention. The best thing about these four men was how friendly they were. They were always smiling, even when they were carrying my huge couch. This move was supposed to be a nightmare but these movers turned it into a really nice memory.

They delivered on time too. They didn’t overcharge me and I can’t thank them enough for it.

Moving APT should not be trusted

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This was what the head of the company told us when we called in to complain after all these events "We vet all the carriers they send your way", the one we received was unprofessional to an improbable level, the moving guy called us and kept saying he had been a mover since 1999 and he would arrive early to help us pack things into his truck, he then extorted for money in cash form to rebox stuff when we'd already paid for the service before hand, wouldn't leave the property when asked, and kept harassing us days before to move early, little did we know that if it's still within the moving window for this company, if something goes under you the customer are the one screwed over. If you have the option, don't let moving apt get forceful and ask for a deposit, they will keep your hard earned 1,400 and hide behind legalese and pretending their 'vetted' companies are trustworthy. Tip for people picking this company, make sure to delay your move until the last day of the window, that way if something goes wrong you get your deposit back, also delay putting down a deposit if possible, these people will take your money and run with it. Now the unprofessional carrier came from a separate company, but this company was trusted and vetted by moving apt, and the moving apt company is the one who after we felt unsafe within our own home and were extorted for money, kept holding to company policy that they won't return a cent of our money nor did they give us any alternatives except to try another 'trusted and vetted company' which since they clearly can't be safe to trust and they clearly don't actually vet the companies we can no longer do, we are now getting a Uhaul due to this company and its incompetent head of customer service being unable to actually do any customer service.
